I was hired by Walthers to give power to the online world of Walthers Trains. There I managed marketing team members that pulled together email programs, social media, graphic design, and an award winning e-commerce website with more than 70k SKU's.
I was hired by Walthers to give power to the online world of Walthers Trains. There I managed marketing team members that pulled together email programs, social media, graphic design, video production, and an award winning e-commerce website with more than 70k SKU’s. We started with one email per week and within a month we were sending 5 emails a week, loaded with products and driving improvements in the business. We did user experience testing on the home page with the category boxes that are still in place today, several years later. Soon we would embark on standing up Marketo, marketing automation. This helped us to get traction with different events, social media, and continued to help our e-mail programs produce results. I was also part of a team that created a 300 page catalog every year called “The Reference Book” which was known industry wide as the model railroaders bible. It was at Walthers, where I was familiarized and started being able to create annual content calendars for all of our content marketing. The tool we used was excel, and it worked perfectly. My team used basecamp, trello, and other project tools to manage the workflow through the department.
