I met Michelle in 8th or 9th grade, we’ve been friends for a very long time so when she contacted me about doing a website for her photography business I was elated. Michelle explained that she’d been selling photos on stock photo sites for a while and the compensation she was receiving was dropping based on the policies of those platforms. She had several different levels of product from regular stock photos (about 8,000) to high end one off art pieces. She wanted the site to be able to sell both and potentially do print fulfilment as well. We went with a WordPress website and did a mashup of a few different plugins to accomplish the job. Then in 2024 Michelle changed direction and became even more wholistic about her photos and her lifestyle, becoming a wellness brand and selling items that were used as props in the photos as well as adding recepies to her content creation process. Along the way I trained Michelle on the finer points of blogging, website management, and wordpress in general. I accomplished this using loom and creating videos around how to use elementor and the imagely platform together. Later in 2024 Michelle made the decision to try another platform, so she chose shopify, I assisted her in bulk uploading and on-page SEO for her new venture.
